Tammie Deaton, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, is an accomplished senior people operations professional and HR consultant with 20+ years of experience leading successful HR teams and facilitating leadership development. Her specialties include employment law and regulatory compliance, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and employee engagement and retention. She is also a corporate trainer and motivational speaker.
Tammie started out as HR Director for the Public Employees Credit Union, where she managed all HR and training for multiple locations. After 6 years there, she went on to serve as Head of HR for Navigator Telecommunications, advising C-suite leaders in strategic HR matters during a time of rapid growth for the company.
Next, Tammie joined the senior leadership team at RAPA & UHS Health, overseeing all HR areas for regional medical facilities and developing a training program for executives. In 2015, she became the senior strategic HR business partner for Baylor Scott & White’s flagship hospital and 45 clinics, guiding transformation during M&A and post-merger reorganization.
From 2018 to 2021, she was HR director for Charter Communications, a Fortune 100 organization. There, she led operational executives in sales and marketing and managed a team of HR business partners. Among other accomplishments, she designed an onboarding program that reduced attrition by 30 percent. Starting in 2021, Tammie became a freelance HR consultant, advising executives in industries such as real estate, hospitality, and IT/software services.
Tammie is both SPHR and SHRM-SCP Certified. She has extensive experience in a wide variety of industries, including banking, education management, e-learning, financial services, high tech, higher education, hospital & healthcare, medical devices, nonprofits, and telecommunications.
