Lee Ann James has joined the vcfo, serving the greater Houston, Texas area as a Consulting CFO.

Lee Ann is an accomplished consulting CFO with more than 20 years of experience. She is highly effective at executing finance function strategically, establishing financial and risk controls, and overseeing capital structure. Lee Ann’s depth and breadth of expertise includes board reporting, audit preparation, business plan development, market research and analysis, risk management, and capital requirements. Other strengths include P&L management, accounting remediation, systems integration, performance management, mergers and acquisitions, and carve-outs.

Lee Ann started out in 2004 as an accountant for a $30B joint venture of Smith International and Schlumberger, part of a team upgrading a world-wide Oracle system for the cost accounting team. After that, she served as senior cost analyst, SOX auditor, and inventory manager for Wyman Gordon Forging, where she improved P&L and developed internal SOX 400 controls.

In 2012, she took on the role of controller/accounting manager for Garlock Pipe Technology, where she managed the accounting department and successfully implemented Oracle 13i. More recently, she served as CFO at Seves USA, where she saved the company over $7.5M in estimated back VAT taxes, penalty, and interest from 3 EU countries, and then at Pencco, where she managed vendors to secure product availability for more than $6M in revenue. She had complete ownership of financials, reporting, auditing, and compliance for all entities.

In 2017, she founded Kee Advisory and Consultants, LLC, a consulting integrator. She mentors CEOs on organizational structures and vision planning, consults on compartmentalizing and reconfiguring assets, and uncovers and removes obstacles. She also consults on systems implementation, capital fundraising, budget/forecasting tools, procedures, and the development of how-to plans.
