Gary is a finance professional with more than 45 years of expertise in business development, global accounting, and process improvement across multiple industries. With a detail-oriented and results-driven work style, his forte lies in implementing effective cost control measures to uphold the organization’s financial integrity. Gary takes pride in his aptitude for organizational development, has significant experience as a senior advisor to leadership, and excels in formulating strategies to facilitate the attainment of business targets. He is particularly skilled in strategic planning, resource management, operations management, forecasting, credit and collections, due diligence, financial reporting and documentation, private equity, bank financing, risk management, compliance, and banking relationships.
Prior to joining vcfo, Gary’s career includes Controller, Auditor, CFO, and Senior Vice President positions for organizations like Kinko’s and Blockbuster. During this time, he managed general accounting for 4,350 domestic retail stores and 1,992 international stores in 25 countries, redesigned workflow to reduce in-house order processing from 72 hours to three hours, and implemented major strategic shifts to turn negative cash flow to positive and ultimately save millions of dollars. In addition, Gary has reduced inbound freight costs by 40%, while also redesigning packaging to cut costs in half. He previously managed finance teams ranging in size of two to 250. Gary is also a Certified Public Accountant. Gary currently serves as the Chairman of both the Audit and Compensation committees for SQL Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ).
