Firm taps 20-year financial industry veteran as controller associate
SEATTLE, Wash. and AUSTIN, Texas – June 8, 2007 – A 20-year financial industry veteran has joined the Seattle office of vcfo Inc. Robert “Bob” Gundersen has joined the financial services company as a controller associate.
With more than two decades in the technology, pharmaceutical and biotech industries, Gundersen’s areas of expertise include: leading operations and project accounting, managing budgets and supporting mergers and acquisitions.

Gundersen most recently served as the controller for Demand Media, a start-up domain name registry and media company formed in May of 2006. Since that time, Demand Media acquired nine companies, making it the second largest domain name registry in the world. Gundersen managed all of the financial matters for three of the nine acquired companies.
Prior to Demand Media, Gundersen was the Controller for SkeleTech, a contract research organization specializing in pre-clinical biology for Bone and Central Nervous System diseases. Gundersen managed all of the company’s financial matters, and played a key role in the $9 million sale of SkeleTech to MDS Pharma Services.
Gundersen has also held key financial positions with Chiroscience R&D, formerly Darwin Molecular, as well as Bristol Myers-Squibb.
A Vietnam Veteran, Gundersen held the positions of Staff Sergeant and Crew Chief C-130E between 1967 to 1971 before receiving an Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force. Gundersen received his BS in Geology, and his BA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Seattle. He received his MBA in Accounting, Finance and Statistics from the University of Chicago.
