Firm taps founder and president of CFO Pro Tem to lead new office
SEATTLE, Wash. and AUSTIN, Texas – Feb. 23, 2007 – vcfo Inc., the leading professional services firm delivering financial and HR solutions, has opened its fourth office in Seattle, Washington.
The Austin-based company tapped industry veteran Jerry McGuire to lead the new office as managing director. Prior to vcfo, McGuire spent 17 years as founder and president of CFO Pro Tem, and served as an interim chief financial officer in the Greater Seattle area. McGuire has helped companies raise more than $100 million over the course of his career.
“I am excited to lead vcfo’s Seattle office and build the company’s presence on the west coast,” McGuire says, “With the assistance of a well-established organization, my team and I will have the opportunity, resources and support to serve a large spectrum of Seattle area
businesses.”
McGuire anticipates hiring 10 to 12 employees in the coming year, about half of which will be brought on in the next six months. He’s seeking CFOs, controllers and staff accountants.
vcfo executives say the decision to open a Seattle office was multi-faceted. “The city’s open business community and healthy economy were things that had great appeal. In addition, we found an incredible person to lead the office,” says Ellen Wood, chief executive officer of vcfo.
Specifically, Scott Killingsworth, chief operating officer of vcfo, notes McGuire’s proven management experience, professionalism and track record in leading young businesses to profitability. McGuire has assisted in the success of more than 30 business enterprises over the course of his career in the finance industry.
The new Seattle office is pleased to announce its first four clients, including:
- Forte Design Systems – a San Jose, Calif.-based software company that helps chip designers achieve greater functionality and performance during production design.
- Ceptyr – a Redmond, Wash.-based biotech company that creates new drugs to combat diabetes and obesity.
